MEET LARRY
Larry L. is the seventh of Irene Barrett's children and has grown up to be a singer and the founder of Phyt4Life. Due to his grades in grammar school and the highest exam score ever recorded in the Chicago Public School System's history, Larry was sent to the five provinces of Canada at the age of 12 by the City of Chicago. At age 17, he joined the All-City Choir and was given a one-year singing and acting scholarship to attend the Idyllwild School of Music and the Arts in the Californian Blackfoot Mountains.
Larry joined the University of Illinois, where he joined Mattie Moss Clark onstage. After spending a year in college, Larry returned to Chicago, where he and his brothers cut their debut single, "Occupy My Mind," for the Natru Label. Larry and his brothers also appeared as the opening act for Marvin Gave before The Mighty Clouds of Joy in a concert.
The song "Never Give Up" by Larry Barrett was independently published in 2002. Despite the fact that it was well-liked and broadcast on 176 stations across the country, there were no financial gains due to poor management at the company he was working for and the failure of Southwest Distributors. Unfazed and determined to succeed, Larry Barrett made the trip to Texas, founded Phy-Tur Records LLC, and has collaborated with other artists over the years.
